Branding, Design, Prototyping, XHTML/CSS, and Front-end

The editors at FRI aimed to publish a broad mix of content that could potentially appeal to both genders. The right design would achieve this goal with a soft focus and feminine leaning, yet without overplaying either trait – and absolutely no pink.

To that end we settled on organic earth tones with a tapestry of underlays, juxtaposed with large areas of whitespace and an elegant but durable typography. The final delivery consisted of a new brand mark, a ground up design for over 15 page types, each fully rendered as prototypes in CSS and XHTML.
